A Few Tiptastic Tips that will Be Sure To Save You Space in Your Suitcase

It’s that time again! Look at you all vaccinated up, getting ready to go on your summer vacation and live your best life! What was that you say you have trouble packing your suitcase, you can’t find space for all of your essentials? I got you, girl, I am about to hit you with some great tips that will have you saying “wow! These tips are awesome”.

1.Plan Accordingly

If you are like me, then you do not end up wearing most of your clothes on your trip. To avoid that make sure you plan out your outfits ahead. Check the weather as well so you know what conditions to pack for, hot, cold, rain, or shine. Just a thought, if you do not have time to plan outfits because you are busy, then matching sets solve problems, just saying.

2. Roll Your Clothes, Do Not Fold Them

I first saw this hack on Youtube a couple of years ago and I have been doing it ever since. Folding your clothes creates creases, which leads you to wear wrinkly clothes on your trip, not cute. Not to mention folding takes up too much space. Start rolling your clothes from the bottom up and then pack them neatly in your suitcase. You will be amazed at the amount of space you have left!

3. Don’t Leave Your Packing To The Las Minute 

Frantically shoving piles of clothes in your suitcase, your brain scrambling so that you don’t forget anything, forgetting to wash some clothes so you just pack them dirty. You are left wearing nasty, unwashed clothes. Start to lay your clothes out two or three days in advance so that you do not have to scramble one hour before. Also, wash your clothes so that you don’t walk around stinking on your trip.

4. Wear Your Bulkiest Items on The Plane Instead of Packing Them 

Bring on the jackets, the boots, the hoodies, pick your bulkiest outfit that you are planning on bringing with you and wear it on the plane. Yes, you will be hot as hades with all of those extra layers on but it’s for a good cause.

5. Save Room For Souvenirs

Souvenirs, we love them, we need them, especially when we are traveling overseas. If you are trying to save space in that Samsonite suitcase that you have you can look into shipping the items if they are bigger, which may get a little pricey. If they are just small items like clothes or shoes I am sure you can fit them in your suitcase. Just be mindful of those overweight baggage fees.

Motivation Monday: A Workout That Will Get You Closer To Your Goal and Ready For Hot Girl Summer!

Happy Monday Babes! Megan Thee Stallion is a big part of new music, I mean you see her music all over the charts and you see her on your screens. A year or two ago she came out with a song called “Hot Girl Summer” that put a new meaning to the phrase. Suddenly she has got us all excited for hot girl summer, it’s all everyone talks about. I know for the summertime we would like our bodies to be sittin tight and sittin right for those Instagram and Facebook picture that we like to post while we are on vacation. This link will take you to a 30-minute workout. The best part about this workout is that you do not need any equipment, just yourself and a yoga mat or an exercise mat. Want to get closer to that summer body you have been working toward? The Peloton has got you covered! Get yourself one and get a lot closer to your goal. Get off your butt and start sweating with the best instructors like Alex Toussaint, Tunde Oyeneyin, Hannah Frankson, and many more! 

I joined the Peloton Gang in February and let me tell you it totally changed my life. This bike is amazing, I know what you are going to ask “What sets it apart from all the other stationary bikes”?  Not only does this bike come with cycling classes it comes with yoga classes, boot camps, strength training, and many more. The bike comes with shoes that are designed to clip in and clip out of the bike, weights, and a yoga mat. Now I am going to be honest with you because I like you, Peloton bikes are pricey they are $1,895.00. Before you purchase the bike they have a Peloton app that you can download it comes with a 30-day free trial so you can see if you like the classes.  You are probably thinking to yourself “Oh no…that is way too expensive”, I know, but I am a firm believer in investing in your health. This is the only body you get so let’s try to take care of it!

The one thing that sets the peloton apart from the other bikes is the feeling that you get when you get on the bike. As cliche, as it may sound no other stationary bike, compares to when you are on the Peloton. When you take a class it is just you and the instructor, one on one. They give you motivational speeches throughout that help allow you to not give up, the inspirational speeches are what really drew me to the bike. They have live classes that you can take as well, I have tried some live classes, I personally love them. When you are in there with other peloton riders the energy is just infectious! When you are finished you are left feeling sweaty and fatigued, yet the classes are exhilarating and you are already looking forward to the next ride!

As you keep on taking the classes you grow to love the instructors and their fire playlist. They have a playlist with a wide range of music and even if you do not know some of the songs on the playlist for the class you pick the class will still be good. The instructors motivate and push you to be the best version of yourself. They want you to give it your all while your on that bike and it will pay off because when you hit your PR (personal record) it is the best feeling in the world. 

If you are contemplating getting a Peloton, do it. It is expensive, yes but it is money well spent. Invest in your health, get a Peloton and get your summer body on! Music is Life! Music is love! Music is an escape from reality, once we hear our favorite song on the radio we are gone somewhere else for those three minutes or for however love the song is. I don’t about you but I like to listen to music everywhere I go, I’m even listening to music while working on the post. The best place to listen to music is while you are working out, you can just put in your headphones and go. 

Music is especially crucial when I am doing a HIIT (High Interval Training) Workout. HIIT helps your endurance but it also helps your burn fat and tones your body. We all want that body sitting tight and sitting right for summer. I know first hand that HIIT workouts can be very tiring, have no fear. Different Ways To Celebrate The First Day Of Spring

Yay! I can finally say it is the first day of spring, or at least it will be on March 20th. It falls on a Saturday, so there is no excuse for why you can’t celebrate this weekend. It is never too early to start planning your activities. The days are longer, nature is in full bloom, temperatures are rising, can you hear that, that’s spring calling your name! What are you waiting for pick up the phone baby! It is not gonna wait around forever, so get out there and embrace it with open arms!

Our moms have always told us to go play outside and stop wasting so much time in front of a screen. It has always been too cold out, not anymore. Mom’s promise me you will take a break and get outside, not just moms everyone. Even if you have to bring a few extra layers because Mother Nature can’t commit to a season. We still have to get out and enjoy the sun while we can because in the blink of an eye it can be gone again. Before you know it the cold will be rolling in. So pack a picnic, go on a bike ride, go around the city and take pictures, whatever you want just enjoy! That’s an order!

Now that it is officially Spring you know what that means, that’s right summer is not too far behind! Just because summer vacation is a few months away does not mean we have to put our planning on hold. We are dreaming of the days where we can feel the warm beach water against our skin and the sand on our toes. I’m getting teary just thinking about it. Okay now that that’s over grab your computer and start planning your perfect vacation, you deserve it after all that this pandemic has put you through!

Go to your local market pick your favorite fruits and vegetables, find a recipe and replicate. Cook it up like your favorite chefs, Rachael Ray, Gordon Ramsay Bobbly Flay, or whoever. It is a great way to celebrate the season, delicious too!

How The Spring Season Inspires You To Have a Fresh Start To Your Life

Oh, you haven’t heard, trying to restart your life is not just for the new year, spring rebirth is a real thing. For many of us, spring is a chance for growth. This is a time of joy, the days are longer, the weather gets warmer, and the animals come out of hibernation as do we. Let us welcome the Spring Season and look at this as a time where we get a second fresh start to the year!

Spring rebirth is about taking a step back from your daily life and focusing on your mental health. Cleaning your mind is a huge part of having a fresh start. It has been said that the average person thinks about 50,000 thoughts per day, which is a lot right? I have a sneaking suspicion that most of those thoughts are negative, it is okay we all do it. We are our toughest critics and what people do not know is that we have a battle going on in our heads. We are battling with our inner selves. We have to be more mindful of what we think and say to ourselves, trade that negative in for a positive. Remember, think better, do better!

In the midst of all of this spring cleaning do not forget to take time for yourself. This is the new journey that you are taking for yourself, by yourself. As far as the new people that you meet along that way they can either get with it or get lost. This is your own personal journey that you are taking in order to heal yourself from whatever you have been feeling. We go through personal battles but we have to be willing to forgive and accept ourselves as we are, you will feel so much better when you do. Spring heals, let this spring season heal you!

Spring is all about letting go of the past. I know it is only one season but it is how the season makes you feel and what you want to do in it. Jump into the present with me, stop dwelling on the mistakes that you have made in the past. Shoulda, woulda, coulda, there is nothing that you can do about it now. Just stay focused and be the best you that you can be, that’s all you can do!

Hope Spring eternal, spring is a time for hope and optimism. Martin Seligman who is the author of Learned Optimism focuses on the importance of optimistic thinking and how it can lead to a healthy life adjustment. You have to be hopeful for the future and you have to power to control your own life!

Mother Nature has given us this wonderful opportunity to renew ourselves and redefine our strengths. She has given us the gift of a fresh start and I hope that you take it. How To Enjoy The Wonderful Spring Weather While Working From Home

You check your phone to see what the weather is, you see that it is going the be in the 60s and 70s. You get so excited, that excitement quickly dies down because you have to work. I know it’s hard for the working professionals to stop and smell the roses, but it’s good for the soul. With warm weather like this, we have to find an excuse to get outside even if it’s only for a little while. Put on your dresses, slip-on those sandals, grab the sunglasses and let’s hit it. Tell the winter blues to go away and the flowers will come out to play!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the grass is looking extra green. What a nice day to go for a picnic. You are probably thinking to yourself “I have not had a picnic in forever” good, that’s what makes this all the more enjoyable! Even if you are on your lunch break and you have a few minutes, no problem. Pack your lunch up and take it outside, even if you are just having a picnic in your front yard. Picnic time on 3, 1.2.3 picnic time!

You are forced to work at home, yes. It does not have to be a bad thing, the weather is too gorgeous for your day to be wasted. There is no rule that says you cannot work outside. Take your coffee, tea, or whatever you drink and head outside. Who says work can’t be fun!

Open your windows and your blinds folks, the warm weather is here. I love to open the drapes and push open the windows. It’s so amazing to feel the breeze and still get that spring thing happening when your working and don’t have time to get outside. Leave your windows open and let the springtime air wash over you like a cool glass of water. Listen to the birds singing their songs to each other. Let’s do it!

How To Beat The Springtime Self-isolation Blues

Ahhhh…. spring! The sound of birds chirping, the feel of the cool winds against your skin and the beauty of the flowers in bloom.  Isn’t it wonderful? The only downside is we are still stuck in this pandemic. It has been a year and it is easy to get a case of the blues when you are told to stay inside for a while longer. People are struggling out here, I am too, I’m definitely on the struggle bus.  I’m here to tell you to wipe away those blues, turn that frown upside down. There is no reason why you should just be sitting on your couch and feeling upset. You can still have fun in the sun and be safe at the same time. Don’t believe me, just watch.

Getting outside is a great way to shake off those self- isolation blues. I encourage everybody to get outside and go for a walk, a bike ride, whatever just get some fresh air, the sun is your friend! Your body feels better and your mood changes if you have had your exercise. If you don’t want to listen to me then listen to doctors, nutritionists, anyone that tells you that the sun is good for you. Vitamin D is a vital part of your dietary needs. You know what they say “A little fresh air will do you good” Go out and get some!

Find a new hobby! We are in a pandemic and even though the lockdown is ending soon it’s never too late. This could possibly be just what you need to pull you out of your blue state and put a smile on that face. Maybe your new hobby is something that you can do with a friend, that’s always a fun time. Whether it’s gardening, photography, or starting a new business just find it and make it fun!

Friends know just what to say to pull you out of that springtime fever, self-isolation blues. Now I am not telling you to forget all of the laws that have been enforced and go socialize with your friends, no. Hanging out is not the only way that we can stay connected. We live in a generation where technology is at our fingertips, isn’t technology great? Check-in with a friend you have not seen for a while or even a few. Just do whatever you can to get yourself out of that funk. Don’t let this pandemic steal your joy!

Its March! Spring is almost here. Trade in the cold weather for the fresh spring breeze. The flowers are starting to bloom, the grass is getting a little greener, and the weather is starting to get warmer. I know spring does not officially start until March 20th, but I wanted to share some things to love about spring. Enjoy!

The number one thing that is the most eye-catching about the springtime is the flowers. Flowers are everywhere, blossoming and waving in the breeze all the while, showing us just how beautiful they are. The trees growing their leaves back like an afro with a fresh blowout. Let’s take a moment and give thanks to Mother Nature for rewarding us with all of this spring beauty!

Spring brings a fresh breeze. There is just something about a breeze that is so refreshing. Let it wash over your face as if you’re being reborn. The positive energy that this season brings is like a breath of fresh air. You don’t need to close your windows anymore, leave them open and let the warm air bring light and positivity into your home.

Spring Cleaning! I have been talking about cleaning and decluttering forever on my blog, but it honestly feels so good. Putting fresh sheets on your bed, doing your laundry, it’s all here!  You feel better when your space is clean and organized. With the fresh breeze flowing and the sweet smell of fresh flowers and the sunshine streaming through your windows, how can you not feel motivated to clean. The weather is starting to get warmer, let’s take full advantage of the situation and get outside. This is something that my mom loves to do as soon as it starts to get warmer she darts out the door to go for a walk. I don’t blame her, the weather is gorgeous, it’s not too cold, it’s not too hot, it’s just right, just how goldilocks likes it. What Are Some Things That You Are Going To Do Once This Pandemic is Over

Can’t wait for quarantine to be over! Do you have so many things planned once you’re out of COVID house arrest? Me too. Ms. Rona, I am ready for us to part ways, it has been fun, not really. I have so many things that I want to do when this pandemic is over. I am a homebody but this is ridiculous! When we get out we all have that one thing that we want to do or maybe it’s a bunch of things? Be patient, our time will come. In the meantime, we can just talk and dream about all the things we want to do.

One thing that I am excited to do, is to travel. Ah yes! No I’m not talking about back and forth to the grocery store like we would usually do. Whether you are traveling locally or getting on a plane and traveling to a different state, country, or whatever we can’t wait to get back to new adventures! Leave a like if you agree. Just think about it, we have not been able to travel for a year! I’m sure traveling is going to hit different once we blow this popsicle stand. I have been longing for the feeling of being able to pack my suitcase, get on a plane and just go. I bet we are all excited to get out and visit a place for fun and not just for the necessities. I guarantee you, when this pandemic is lifted we will all be gassing up our cars and getting ready to go on that summer road trip or booking our flight to go to that tropical destination. Listen Linda, it is going to be every man for himself when the announcement comes “you are free to move about the country!”.

I am officially trading my pajamas and Gucci slides for some real clothes. Goodbye quarantine life, hello adventure!
